I've been making art my job for more than ten years. I've been drawing since I was a little kid, probably with crayons and colouring pencils. I just liked drawing whatever I wanted, whether it was an animal I had seen or a cartoon I had seen. It took a long period to learn how to paint, but I learned a lot about digital art from a tutorial by Cuson, a Hong Kong-based artist I like. He did a live tutorial at a convention I went to, and afterwards, I could make friends with him, which was great.
I like to start by imagining what the finished piece will look like, and I keep guessing until it seems right. I start with a rough sketch, then add lines, shading, and colours. In the last step, I zoom in on the drawing and fix any mistakes.
My ideas come from popular things. I like to draw fan art. If I like a game or movie, I want to bring it to life and add my touches to make it my own. When I thought about putting two things I like together, like Disney and Pokemon, I thought, "Hmm, that could be interesting." I thought mixing Disney characters with Pokemon evolution would be fun, but now I can't stop drawing Disney characters. I hope you all like how my funny drawings helped me develop a new Pokemon.
