Tom Hussey, a commercial photographer, makes a mirror image of their younger selves that makes them feel something. In the pictures, an older person looks thoughtfully at their younger self in a mirror.
"When you look at yourself in the mirror, no matter how old you are, you think you're younger than you are," he said about this series. You remember a significant moment in your life, like when you got your driver's license, were a senior in high school, or were married. The "Reflections" ad campaign was based on a photoshoot I did for my portfolio to show this idea.
Hussey was inspired by a veteran of World War II who said, "I can't believe I'll be 80. I feel like I've just returned from war.When I look at my reflection in the mirror, I see an old man."
Novartis, a health care company, used these pictures in a campaign to sell its Exelon Patch, which is used to treat Alzheimer's disease.
