An artist uses the shadows of everyday things to make fun drawings

Vincent Bal uses shadows to make art, but as you can see, his doodles aren't scary at all.

The Belgian filmmaker and artist have always liked to draw, but he found a new way to use his skills last year. "In April last year, when I was writing a new script, I noticed that my teacup cast a nice shadow on a piece of paper," Vincent said. "I drew lines on it, and suddenly the shadow looked like an elephant. I used my phone to take a picture and then put it on Facebook. Before I knew it, people shared and liked this picture like never before. I didn't expect so many people to like it. Since then, I've put up a new doodle every day. Sometimes with shadows, sometimes with things, and always with a silly punchline. It's awesome. I like how fast it is. In less than half an hour, I have an idea, make it, and find an audience. I love being free. There aren't any rules. I can look at a shadow and figure out what it is." Here are some of our favourite drawings for you to look at. Share the article with your friends!
