An artist paints fake shadows on the street to trick pedestrians, which will mess with your head.

The most powerful art surprises you, and that's what graphic artist Damon Belanger is trying to do in Redwood City, California, where he's been playing with the shadows cast by street objects to make these strange scenes.

Damon was asked to put up 20 fake shadow paintings in downtown Redwood City so that people would be inspired to be creative there. So far, it's been a great idea: "The shadows give ordinary things a lively spirit, so that helps people relax and enjoy themselves," says the artist. He makes the shadows by putting chalk stencils on the sidewalk and then painting them dark gray.

Which one is most effective?
