This is How Men Wore Shorts In The 1970s

The 1970s were a turning point in the history of fashion. With new fabrics, sewing techniques, and ideas, the 1970s brought us space dresses, vinyl jumpsuits, patterns that made people hallucinate, and double denim for men. The decade also gave us short shorts, which were often worn not by women with long legs but by men.

Men's shorts may have become popular because of the free-love attitude of the 1970s when walking around half-naked wasn't as shocking. But how it looks is a whole different question. Hairy legs and a casual peek-a-boo butt cheek from your gym shorts might not be as appealing today.

Here are some craziest examples of this trend in men's fashion. It has everything from questionable denim shorts and too-tight tear-offs to suspiciously short sports shorts for men and khaki cut-offs that kill women. Oh, and the bloke bulges. Lots of bloke bulges. Please don't say we didn't warn you!
