Colin Batty gives old photos a funny, strange twist that makes them attractive. Taking cabinet cards from the early 1900s. He paints new and surprising scenes right on the card with acrylic paint. His additions are often funny but sometimes creepy, and he does a great job of matching the colors and tones of each old photo without using a computer. At first glance, you might not even notice that the images have been changed.
Batty likes to take a boring picture from the past and turn it into something strange and funny. No one is safe from the crazy things he says. In his works, you can find things like a young girl with an eyeball for a head and people with tails like snails.
